A look back at Interplastica Moscow

From January 23rd to 26th, 2018, for the 21st time Interplastica Moscow hosted one of the largest international trade exhibitions for plastic and rubber processing in the Russian metropolis. As the world’s leading manufacturer of polymeric additives, Chemson also took the opportunity to inform the international audience about the latest stabilization possibilities. The focus was on the presentation of our lead-free stabilizers, most notably our successful Calcium/Zinc based stabilizers, which have allowed Chemson to establish itself in the Russian market for some time. The positive mood at the trade fair contributed to constructive discussions with customers, which are expected to culminate in successful deals. We are pleased about the positive feedback from exhibition visitors and also pleased to look back on a successful Interplastica Moscow event.

Chemson makes an impression with stricter ISO requirements

The international quality standard ISO 9001 was extensively revised in 2015. Since the changes, new and stricter standard requirements have been made for various business processes.

During the annual quality audit, Chemson had to undergo a critical review according to the new quality standards. And it was successful: “Quality Austria confirms that we have adapted our system well to the changed requirements of the revised standards”, says Chemson board member Hans Mitteldorf, who is pleased with the results. As a result, Chemson can again look forward to two important ISO certificates: the quality management system according to ISO 9001:2015 and the environmental management system according to ISO 14001:2015.

However, Chemson not only sees the newly received certificates as a confirmation, but also as an invitation to continue on the pursued path. The interconnections revealed in the audit among specifications, planning and implementation will consistently be pursued.

PVC Formulation 2017 in retrospect

The PVC Formulation 2017 took place from 27 February until 1 March 2017 and constituted the ninth edition of the conference, providing an opportunity for an expert audience to exchange information on the latest trends in the PVC industry. Sustainability was a core topic at this year’s edition of the PVC industry’s international conference on compounding processes, formulations and market trends. Besides a comprehensive presentation programme, the 300 attendees spent two days discussing the value-creation cycle of PVC, the requirements of sustainable PVC additives and the public image of PVC.

A new kind of soft PVC stabilisation
Dr. Bernhard Pelzl, Head of Research and Development at Chemson, presented the progress made by Chemson in the development of state-of-the-art additives for soft PVC applications in his conference paper “The art of stabilisation of flexible applications”. As a world market leader and manufacturer of innovative PVC additives, Chemson sets great store by the development of environmentally compatible products. In this context, we have been working for quite some time on finding substitutes for environmentally harmful liquid stabilisers for soft PVC applications. Our answer to the rising demand for ecologically sustainable additives and the increasingly stringent legal restrictions in this field is to produce environmentally friendly, calcium-based solid stabilisers.

Once again, the PVC Formulation conference was an ideal platform for Chemson to participate in a high-level information exchange and to highlight the outstanding development competence and innovative power of our company.
