What kind of information has to be provided up and down the supply chain?

 

Firstly the role of the legal entity is defined as the :

 

-        manufacturer

-        importer

-        downstream user

-        distributor

As before the most important method of communicating safety information will be the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). The structure of the MSDS must conform to council directives 91/155/EC and 2001/58/EC, sections 2 and 3 have already exchanged places on the MSDS, please see → article 31 and → annex III!

An extended MSDS is required for substances which require a CSR has to be submitted. The CSR is part of the technical dossier submitted at the same time as the substance registration referring to time periods this will be after December 2008.

 

To ensure a suitable exchange of data within the supply chain the following forms should be used:

→ Part I  Question from Downstream User (Customer) to Supplier

- REACH: Preregistration / Registration

→ Part II  Question from Downstream User to Supplier

- Use and Exposure

→ Part III Questions from Supplier to Down stream User 

- Use and Exposure

→ Annex to Part II and III
